Who we are

Of All Places, an event series run by Sage Taber in New York, NY. You can reach us any time at sagetaber@gmail.com or through our contact form.

What we collect

• When you RSVP: your first name, email address, and your answers to the short questions on the RSVP form, plus the confirmations you tick (that you're 21+, and whether you're okay being photographed).
• At the event: whether you checked in, which small group you were placed in, and anything you choose to add afterwards — a song, a short story about the night, or a request to stay in touch with someone you met.
• If you contact us: your name, email and the message you send.
• Basic technical data: our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) to keep the site running and secure. We do not run advertising or third-party analytics trackers.

Why we use it

• To hold your spot and send you the emails about the event you signed up for.
• To group people into small circles for the night. Your answers are used — including by an automated matching step — to find a loose shared thread between people. Your email address is never included in that step.
• To run the event itself and to improve future nights.
• To answer you when you write to us.

If you're in the UK or EU, our legal bases are performance of a contract (running the event you signed up for), your consent (photography, and anything you opt into after the night), and our legitimate interest in operating and improving the series.

What other people see

Your email address is never shown to other guests. After your host sends out the groups, the other people in your circle can see your first name and the shared-thread note written for the group. Contact details are only ever exchanged when both people separately ask to stay in touch.

Cookies and local storage

We use only what the site needs to work. Your browser's local storage keeps your in-progress RSVP so you don't lose it if the page reloads, and remembers that you've seen our cookie notice. If you're a host, a sign-in cookie keeps you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. Clearing your browser storage removes all of it.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information and we don't share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers to run the site: a hosting and database provider that stores this data on our behalf, and an AI model provider that processes RSVP answers (first names and answers only — never emails) to suggest groupings. Those providers act on our instructions. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

RSVP details and answers are kept while the series is running so we can invite you back and avoid repeating groupings, and deleted on request at any time. Contact messages are kept until they're dealt with and for a reasonable period after.

Your choices and rights

• Emails: tick the box on the contact form to be removed from our mailing list, or just reply to any email and say so. We'll still send the practical emails about an event you've actively RSVP'd to.
• Access, correction, deletion: email us and we'll send you a copy of what we hold, fix it, or delete it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to complain to your data protection authority.
• Photos: you choose at RSVP whether you're comfortable being photographed, and you can change your mind by telling us or the host on the night.

Children

Our events are 21+ and this site isn't intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged by email to people on our list.
